THE ANALYSIS ON CHARACTERISTICS AND THE IMPACTING FACTORS OF URBANIZATION IN HUBEI PROVINCE
研究了湖北省1952年后城镇化水平、空间差异和特征，发现区域经济水平、科教是重要因素，工业化影响逐渐减弱，服务业和农村二三产业作用增强。
In order to promote urbanization and face economic development globalization, the total level, spatial disparity and characters of Hubei' s urbanization have been explored based on the samples that rate of national and Hubei' s urbanization after 1952 were selected. According to the phases of Hubei, urbanization, correlative analysis with two periods of the development of Hubei's urbanization from 1986 to 1994 and from 1995 to 2000 have also been done. The results show that the regional economic level, science and education are important and substantial factors; and that industrialization significantly affected Hubei's urbanization, but the status has gradually decreased; that service industry, rural second industry and tertiary are also more important and the role of urbanization more drastic. In addition, the other factors can't obviously affect Hubei's urbanization because there are some problems during the two phases, which opening economy is slack, and the effect of resident's consumption to regional urbanization insignificant, and the residents are not too willing to invest to construct, etc.
