It has now become a rush in city construction to restrict or forbidden automobiles in particular areas so as to have business walking streets. The thesis analyzes the causes of the rush such as satisfying people's high quality of enjoyment, improving the present conditions of famous streets, and conforming to development tendency of city tour, probes in the positive and negative effects of converting business areas into one with walking streets on society, economy and environment, and gives suggestions in promoting walking street construction.
