RECENT PROGRESS OF STUDIES ON THE PROVINCIAL BORDER REGIONS AND ITS PROSPECTS IN CHINA
综述了中国省际边界区域的理论内涵、影响因素、产业发展、空间结构模型及发展策略，指出当前研究偏重现状描述，缺乏完整理论体系，并提出了未来研究方向。
As the interjection districts of provincial economic policies, as well as the convergent area of regional conflicts, the Provincial Border Regions plays a strategic role in building up the harmonious society, with difficulties in spacial coordination and overall development. The research of our national provincial border regions mainly contains the theoretic connotation, influencing factors, industrial development, spacial structural model, regional management and the strategy and countermeasure of development towards Provincial Border Regions. These studies primarily focus on description of the current situation instead of forming a complete theoretic system. Under the background of globalization, cyberization, informatization and scientific development, Provincial Border Regions becomes the aspect of stress in the national overall development. We should emphasize on setting up the course of border regional economics with “border effect as its basic theory; deeply analyze the industrial distribution and corporation in Provincial Border Regions; thoroughly investigate the evolvement and ways of optimization towards spacial structure of Provincial Border Regions; speeding up the construction of quantitative systematic model of Provincial Border Regions; scientifically consummate the theoretic system of coordinated development of Provincial Border Regions.
