Promotion of urbanization is of great importance for China in upgrading industrial structure,increasing domestic demand and growing national economy in the front of current financial crisis.This paper presents the evolution of China's urbanization and its driving forces over the past three decades.Then it pays a particular focus on the factors that influence urban development in the coming decades.Finally this paper highlights the policy options for further urbanization,including unleashing domestic market,lifting barriers of factor mobility,and developing low-carbon cities.
