The key difference between urban residential spatial differentiation and symbiosis is that differentiation means the inequality of different dwellers caused by the polarization of affordability and the social characteristics of dwellers,while symbiosis does not mean such inequality and is an ideal residential spatial state.This article will differentiate the two different traits of urban residential spatial structures in forming progress and connotations.The cognition of the analysis is that as the problem of differentiation has taken place in China,it should been solved from the forming mechanism and symbiosis should be developed.
