The paper used Anselin Local Moran's I to analyze the evolution of Shanghai's central place systems. The research finds that the high level central place extends along the east-westYan'an Road—Century Avenueand is always in a state of agglomeration. It conforms to the characteristics ofPole-Axis Progressive diffusion model. The lower level central place system has the tendency of dispersion in the large scale space and agglomeration in the small scale space. They all have the spatial structure ofCentral City—Satellite City.
