THE REGIONAL DIFFERENCES IN FOREIGN TRADE OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS TO PROMOTE THE FARMER’S INCOME
利用中国1999-2008年29个省份的面板数据，发现东中部地区农产品进出口依赖对农民收入有正向影响，而西部地区为负向，且中部影响强于东部。
This paper aims to demonstrate the relationship of regional differences between the foreign trade of agricultural products and the growth of farmer income by using the panel data of 29 provinces (including municipalities, autonomous regions) from 1999 to 2008 in China. The relevant tests indicate that that dependence on agricultural imports and exports in the Eastern and Middle regions definitely have positive effects on the growth of farmer income while the Western region has a negative effect, and the effect on the Middle Region was much stronger than the Eastern Region. Based on a brief analysis of the results, the paper advances some policy proposals to promote the growth of farmer income through trading agricultural products with other countries.
