A Study on the Characteristics of Regional Differentiation in China's Marine Economy and Demarcation of Marine Economic Areas
运用变异系数、洛伦兹曲线、基尼系数和泰尔系数分析中国海洋经济的区域差异特征，并基于主成分分析和丰裕度指数将沿海地区划分为三类海洋经济区。
Based on the analysis of the characteristics of regional differentiation in China's marine economy, this paper raises the question of the demarcation of marine economic areas. Variation coefficient, Lorenz curve(Gini coefficient),Theil coefficient and three-axes diagram are employed to analyze the characteristics of regional differentiation in China's marine economy. Tables and diagrams are used to visualize the analysis results. In the light of related theories in the demarcation of economic areas, and by virtue of the demarcation criteria which is identified through the methods of principal component analysis and abundance index, this paper groups the coastal area into a few types: Type Ⅰ: marine economic area with high abundance index, strong power and advantages. Type Ⅱ:marine economic area with medium abundance index, medium strength and momentum Type. Ⅲ: marine economic area with low abundance index, weak capability and potentials. For each type, there are subtypes of marine economic areas. At the end of the paper, the dominant characteristics of each type of marine economic area are presented.
