SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION AND MECHANISM OF FOREIGN R&D IN CHINA
分析了中国外资研发的空间格局，发现其高度集中在东部少数中心城市，并基于新经济地理学理论揭示了贸易成本、技术溢出、市场规模等因素是导致空间集聚的重要原因。
Spatial distribution and its dynamics mechanism of foreign RD is a focus in economic geography.We analysis the spatial pattern of foreign RD in China,and study its spatial mechanism based on new economic geography theory.China’s foreign RD mainly concentrated in eastern regions,and highly agglomerated in few central cities.The results from case study show that,variables such as trade cost,technology spillovers,market scale,MNCs’ regional production level and historical foreign RD investment in the region,which revealed by new economic geography,are important reasons lead to spatial concentration of foreign RD.Meanwhile,traditional location variables such as regional labor cost,local preferential policy can’t reflect the spatial pattern of foreign RD in China.
