STUDY ON CORRELATION AND COORDINATED DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL ECONOMIC GROWTH IN CHINA
研究中国东、中、西、东北四大区域经济增长的相关性，发现西部对东部和东北有促进作用，但发达地区对欠发达地区的带动作用不对称，并提出协调发展建议。
This paper puts forward the definition of inter-regional economic growth correlation based on which growth correlation among the eastern, middle, western and north-eastern regions of China are tested. The results show: first, there exist good and mutual promoting economic growth correlations between western region and eastern, north-eastern regions. At the same time, fine economic growth correlations have also been found among middle, eastern and western regions. No economic growth correlations are found among other regions. Secondly, the economic growth in western region is the Granger cause of that in eastern and north-eastern regions, and eastern, north-eastern and western regions are all Granger cause of middle region’s economic growth. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the effects of one region’s interfered economic growth on other regions with impulse response function method of VAR model, which shows that the developed eastern region have great driving effects on less developed regions, but that is not true the other way round. And mutual promoting economic growth correlations have not been formed among less developed regions. Finally it puts forward policy advices on how to enhance the level of inter-regional economic growth correlation and then put forward the progress of coordinated development of regional economy.
