IMPACT ON EVOLUTION OF URBAN SPATIAL PATTERN OF DANDONG CITY BY HYDROLOGICAL CHARACTER OF YALU RIVER
研究了鸭绿江不同时期的水文特征如何影响丹东港口分布和带状城市空间格局的演变,指出城市空间格局是对水文特征的响应。
Dandong is a city whose formation and development relied on the harbor.Through collecting the materials of hydrological characteristics of Yalu River during different periods,the article discussed on the inner driving force of the influence on the harbor distribution and the banded urban spatial pattern of Dandong by the harbors.The result stated that the evolution of urban spatial pattern is the response to hydrological characteristics in different periods.As the weak defense location of Yalu River is considered most on the earlier city site of Dandong.On the site,the water flow was gentle,the sand bars were more,and it was easy to pass through.On the period of setting city and harbors,optimal tidal range and water flow is the important factor of earlier urban morphology.With the city orientation as the modern harbor city in the eastern part of Northeast China,the characteristics of original water depth,tidal range,river-bed width and sand sediment cannot supply the demand,so the urban spatial pattern of Dandong extends to Dadong Harbor to form the very narrow banded urban area.
