The Spatial Evolution of Informal Economy and Its Influence on Land Use in Urban Village: A Case Study of Nanting Village in Guangzhou College Town

With the spread of globalization and neoliberalism,informal sectors have become the largest nonagricultural employment sectors in developing countries. The formation, development and evolution of informal sector has been the highlights of academic topic. Mentioning the lack of the informal economy researches in the spatial context at home and abroad, this study taking Nanting village in Guangzhou college town as an example, analyzed the spatial agglomerating feature and functional differentiation of the informal sector in urban village, which used field investigation and spatial analysis and other methods, and then discussed the influence on land use and spatial structure. The studies showed that the agglomeration phenomena of informal economy coexisted with its fragmentation in the urban village, which also exist obvious spatial differentiation phenomenon. Micro informal economy agglomeration and differentiation behavior, which caused the structure and intensity change of land use in urban village, have led the movement of village center and reconstruction of spatial structure in Nanting village. The evolution of the informal sectors' spatial form and structure in the urban village of Guangzhou college town has its obvious path dependence, it's the interactive construction relationship between informal economy and its spatial form. Under the background of high-speed urbanization and spatial expansion of metropolis, a booming informal economy rooted in the dual land regulation and absence of management in urban governance. With the direct power driven by floating population and the special requirements of students, the micro informal economy space has been set up and then attracted more low-income groups moved in again, the process described has totally changed and reconstructed the spatial structure of urban village in Guangzhou college town.
