TEXTILE INDUSTRY COOPERATION AND TRANSTER BETWEEN EASTERN AND WESTERN CHINA

Textile industry of China is distributed mainly over the coastal area. With the economic development and the rise of labor force price, the coastal area is partly losing the advantages of developing textile industry. Textile industry is tending to transfer to the western area, especially the extensively processed products. There are four main reasons that cause the textile industry transfer to the western part: (1) the competitive press coming from both home and abroad; (2) regional labor division and cooperation; (3) national macro-economic policy; (4) the advantages of the natural resources and labor force in western area. In recent years, cotton textile industry transferred from east to the west remarkably, but there are no indications that wool textile industry and chemical fibre industry will transfer from east to the west in the near future.
