THE ASSESSMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CENTRAL CITY DRIVING ABILITY IN HENAN PROVINCE
评估了河南省17个中心城市的带动能力，发现其较弱是导致河南经济落后于沿海地区的原因，并提出了提升对策。
Central city is the growth pole in the development of regional economy. Though having the largest population in China, Henan is economically backward compared with coastal areas due to the weak driving ability of its central cities. One way of coordinating the development of urban and rural areas is to enhance the driving ability of central cities. A variety of measures should be taken to increase the concentration and socio-economic, environmental radiation power of central cities. Employing the econometrics assessment method, this paper makes an integrated assessment of the driving abilities of 17 central cities in Henan province from the perspective of coordinated development between urban and rural areas, and puts forward some countermeasures for further development of the central cities according to existing problems.
