The Spatial Distribution of Provincial Innovative Activity and its Evolution in China
利用1990-2010年中国31个省份的专利数据，分析了省级创新活动的规模差异、空间集中度与相关性，发现其排名结构稳定、空间集中度逐年上升且不存在收敛趋势。
This paper analyzes spatial distribution of provincial innovative activity and its evolution using patent statistics from 31 provinces of China in 1990- 2010. The results indicate that: First, provincial innovative activities are very different with each other in scale and growth rate, their rank structure is steady. Second, spatial concentration and correlation for provincial innovative activity are high and increase by year, and the two coefficients have high relevance. Third, there is no convergence in provincial innovative activities. Contrasted to previously studies, the highlight of this paper is that it expands research indicators, period and methods, so it can comprehensively compare with and assess various results and former conclusions.
