TRANSFORMATION OF URBAN FUNCTION TARGETING CONSTRUCTION OF QINGDAO INTO REGIONAL DRAGON-HEAD CITY

Study on transformation of urban function is of realistic importance to upgrading of industrial structure and sustaining development of urban economy and society.The paper begins with analysis of the process and characters of Qingdao transformation of urban function by means of quantitative method since china's open-door policy.Then,the paper analyses the present characters and problems of urban functions in Qingdao city.Finally,targeting construction of Qingdao into regional dragon-head city and international metropolis,transformation of urban functions and its countermeasures in Qingdao city are put forward: 1.to intensify the characteristic and advantageous urban functions such as harbor and tourism continually.2.to transform from light industries into heavy and chemical industries as well as processing and manufacturing industries.3.to intensify the function of scientific innovation and develop actively high-tech industries.4.to intensify the function of comprehensive service and develop modern service industries on scale.5.to adjust the administrative division within qingdao area in order to provide supporting space for transformation of urban functions.6.to promote the integration of regional economy within Shandong province so as to make Qingdao transform into regional economic administrative center.
