Research on the Location Choice and Spatial Distribution of Securities Branches in Internet ERA
研究了互联网普及和区域发展不平衡背景下，中国证券营业部的区位选择与空间分布特征，发现交易量受互联网和区域因素显著正向影响，投行偏好将新营业部设在省会或交易所所在城市。
This paper aims to research the location choice and spatial distribution of securities branches under a new environment with high popularity of Internet and high competition,and unbalanced regional development.Firstly,we analyze theoretically the mechanism that securities trading volume is influenced by regional facts and Internet.Then the regression analysis is carried out using cross-sectional data from 2006 to 2008 to find out the relationship between the volume and other facts.And then we observed the characters of location and spatial distribution of securities branches added in recent years by investment banks in China with GIS soft and statistic method.Empirical study shows that securities trading volume is influenced by Internet and regional facts significantly and positively.And the character of cities and their location also show strong connection with the volume.GIS analysis and statistical comparison show that investment banks prefer to set up new branches at those capital cities or cities which the Securities Exchange lies in,which implies that they did not pay much attention on the competition when branch locating,although they emphasis the importance of Internet and regional development.
