It is of great strategic significance of the proposal and implementation of economic zone on the west side of the straits.This will be conducive to coping with the global economic integration challenges and nurturing the southeast coastal economic growth pole.Based on the in-depth analysis of the meaning of economic zone on the west side of the straits,this article emphasizes on the reasonable definition of its area coverage.It also makes scientific modeling analysis and forecast on the district competition ability,including synthetical competition ability and economics competition ability of cities,cities' gravitation and the strategy positioning of key cities.Finally the article has put forward several proposals on the basis of summarizing the current development problems of economic zone on the west side of the straits.
