THE INDUSTRY UPGRADE AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS OF THE GREAT PEARL RIVER DELTA
研究大珠三角地区从“前店后厂”模式向国际制造中心转型中的产业升级问题，指出低效率、升级慢等困境，并提出通过产业重组、创新和区域合作来提升竞争力。
After Reform and Opening-up,the economic interaction between Hong Kong,Macao and the PRD(Greater Pearl River Delta) forms a Front Shop,Back Factory co-operation model.This territorial production complex is characterized by export-oriented economy and light manufacture.Now,GPRD becomes an international manufacturing center and has some international competitive edges.While it is growing,there are some serious problems,such as low producing efficiency,slow industrial upgrade,weak international competitiveness and so on.The most importment reason is that the production complex is mainly light manufacturing with simple processing and low value-added,lack of the motivations for innovation.In order to improve the international competitive edges of the GPRD,restructuring the industry to upgrade the economic structure,improving the innovation capability to strengthen endogenous mechanism and constructing a high-efficiency co-operation system to develop the regional industrial harmony by regional infrastructures are suriously suggested.
