STUDY ON THE EVOLUTION LAWS OF THE POPULATION NATURAL STRUCTURE OF COAL-DEPENDENT CITIES IN CHINA -A CASE STUDY OF HUAINAN & HUAIBEI CITY
以淮南、淮北为案例，通过实地调查揭示煤炭依赖型城市在不同发展阶段人口自然结构的演变规律，包括性别比、年龄构成和自然增长率的变化机制。
Coal-dependent city is important one of the classes of urban function in China.It's structures of population, industry and space are different from that of the other classes of cities.The population structure of coal-dependent city has special characteristics and evolution laws. This paper stress on the evolution laws of the population natural structure.The author take Huainan and Huaibei as the typical case and engaged in on-the-spot investigation.The study conclusion makes clear that in different development stages of the coal-dependent cities, the mechanism to cause population growth was changeable.In the primary stage,the development of coal industry supplied lots of employment opportunities for the man labours, which caused many men labors immigration from the rural to coal-dependent city.The increase of population percent caused adult type of the population composition by age.The population sex ratio imbalance was very serious. Many coal workers married with the rural women who will gradually immigrate from rural to cities, which caused the population sex ratio of the coal-dependent cities to decrease and make indirectly the population natural increase rate to rise.In this stage,the population composition by age was young type. When the development scale of coal industry being stable,the immigrant cut down remarkably and the population natural increase rate decreased,also. The population composition by age was adult type once again and the population sex ratio inclines to normal level finally.
