Learning From“Unimpeded Transportation Movement”:on Cooperation Mechanism of Urban Construction and Traffic Administration in China

Following with the rapid economic development, Chinese cities has got great achievements in transportation since China adopted the policy of reform and opening to the world in 1978. But turning our eyes from all this, we could still see that the supply of urban transportation is far from sufficient and that traffic management is lagged behind in many cities due to all kinds of factors. And in the near 10 years, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou etc. have been facing serious transportation problems that they have never encountered before. Maybe that's why China puts forward unimpeded Transportation Movement in the year 2000, whose aim is to release more Chinese from Traffic jams by more conscious cooperation of people from urban construction and traffic administration. A year has passed since that. What experiences and lessons have we got in unimpeded Transportation Movement? How can we benefit from them in future? This is what the paper tries to probe.
