KRUGMAN, THE NOBEL PRIZE AND DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY
从四个角度分析克鲁格曼的经济地理思想,讨论其获奖对学科的影响,并思考中国经济地理学的发展。
This paper firstly analyses Krugman' s economic geography ideas from the four perspectives of integrating trade theory with location theory, explaining spatial agglomeration by the increasing returns to scale, transportation costs and factor mobility, explaining regional development path from the perspectives of history, expectation and path dependence, and quantitatively analyzing the interregional relationship. Secondly, this paper discusses Krugman’s edification to economic geography from the views of research perspective, paradigm and methodology, and then, examing the impact of Krugman’s winning of the Nobel Prize in economics on economic geography from the three aspects of social status, study perspective and development direction of the discipline. At last, it put forwards some thinking of the development of economic geography in China.
