A STUDY ON ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION OF TOURISM INDUSTRY——TAKING THE EXAMPLE OF HUBEI PROVINCE

With the rapid development and great success of tourism industry,many regions regard tourism as mainstay industry.The mainstay industry must be qualified by many quantitative standards,but some regions use only some unscientific standards as the gist of the tourism industry's decision-making,which might bring on many negative influences.In order to make comprehensive appraise on the economy contribution of tourism industry,the paper constructs the evaluation index system of economy contribution of tourism industry from four facets: the percentage of adding value to GDP,demand elasticity,employment capacity and industrial connection degree;secondly,it uses the index system to analyze the economy contribution of tourism industry of Hubei Province.Basing on the relating datum,the author draws a conclusion that the tourism industry of Hubei Province should be positioned as mothball mainstay industry rather than mainstay industry.
