Study on the Distibution of Migrant Workers' Destination——A Case Study of Henan Province
通过对河南省11个样本村的随机分层抽样调查,发现农民工目的地在大范围分散、小范围集中,主要分布在县内和省外,且集中在经济发达的东部省份;年龄、家庭规模、人均耕地等因素影响其工作距离选择。
The choice of workers' destination is the basis of migrant workers' spatial flow, the study on which is helpful to understand the spatial rule of migrant workers' flow from a micro perspective.Through the case study on 11 example villages generated by the random stratified sampling in Henan province, authors of this paper find that the distribution of destinations is dispersed in a large area while converged in small places. The destinations are chiefly in county and outer province.Migrant workers are mainly concentrated in the economically more developed eastern provinces. The central,as a source of migrant workers, has not formed a core area for migrant workers. The main factors influencing migrant workers' choice of working distances include age, family size, per capita arable land, the level of economic development in their village, the village's topography, transport, its distance from the nearest city, and workers' relationship networks. From the perspective of working destinations,on a provincial scale, the coefficient of work gravitation based on the destinations' level of economic development and working distance, explains the farmers' choice of destinations in a certain sense, that is,destinations with a more developed economy and a shorter distance are the top choice for migrant workers.
