A STUDY ON EVOLUTION OF ECONOMIC SPATIAL STRUCTURES OF CHINESE COASTAL ZONE

Socio-economic actions always have a fairly geographical boundaries and sequences. Thus, space research is one of the core contents on studying the socio-economic actions. In another words, the evolution of economic spatial structures reflects a course of history of socio-economic development. In processes of industrialization and urbanization, Chinese coastal zone is a representative for the spatial structures' change, which are undergoing these stages from the seeds of modern industry to nowadays. That is, the spatial structures of Chinese coastal zone have evolved from the bi-ports' structure to the multi-centers and multi-groups intense belt structure. During this time, the economic developing cores have transferred from the Southern to the Northern and to the Southern again. Foreign capital flow, growth pole, hinterland competition and government action are the main mechanism of coastal space change.
