Abstract

Based on the data of intercity passenger traffic flow,this paper analyses the spatial pattern of Pearl River Delta's city function connection in two scales of city and functional region.It is found that the connection intensity shows imbalanced spatial variation in center area and peripheral area,east coast and west coast,and three subregions;the connection direction demonstrates overall spatial pattern of orienting to Guangzhou and Shenzhen,as well as partial discontinuity;the connection nodes suggest spatial structure of gradient hierarchy and polycentric distribution.Besides,nowadays PRD is in the phase of economic structure transformation and upgrading,facilitating the implementation of regional integration policy,and rapid construction of regional transport infrastructure,which exert great impacts on the property,distribution and corridors of resource flow in the region.
