AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF REGIONAL DIFFERENCES IN FINANCIAL RESOURCES' EFFECT ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
基于1987-2007年中国东中西三地区数据，发现存款代表的金融资源与GDP正相关，但东部促进作用最强，西部次之，中部最弱。
As a big developing country with significant regional features, Speed and level of economic and financial development of Midwest China is significantly lower than Eastern region,with a further widening trend. The widening gap in regional development and non-equilibrium have become the important factors impeding our country’ harmonious development of economy and society. This paper selects deposits as a regional indicator of financial resources, based on sample data from 1987 to 2007, models GDP and deposit growth rate.The results show that there is a positive correlation between regional financial resources and GDP, but the effects varies among regions.Generally speaking,the positive effect of regional financial resources to GDP in Eastern Region is stronger than that in western while western is stronger than Central.
