CHINA'S EAST-WEST COOPERATION IN THE ECONOMIC GLOBALIZATION
探讨经济全球化背景下中国东西部合作面临的挑战与机遇，分析交通通信技术如何削弱西部区位劣势，以及跨国公司和旅游合作在其中的作用。
The 21th century is an era dominated by knowledge economy and economic globalization. China's east-west cooperation(EWC) will meet its unprecedented challenges and opportunities. This paper aims to explore the four relevant issues as follows: China's EWC and the international cooperation interact each other; the modernized transportation, telecom technology, networking and modeling will make the location disadvantage and distance obstacle of the western region less important in its drive of cooperation; the transregional and transnational corporations are becoming the prominent forces in the EWC; owing to the special function of tourists flow, the tourism cooperation can be the breakthrough for the EWC in the following years.
