INTENSIVE URBAN LAND USE:AN EXPLANATION BASED ON PRODUCTION THEORY
基于基本经济理论，深入探讨城市土地集约利用的概念，指出流行的评价指标（如单位土地上的要素投入和产出）在某些方面可能具有误导性。
Many have argued that the studies of the intensive use of urban land form a special branch of economic research,and have tried to design indices system and evaluation methods based on economic concepts in order to assess the levels of intensive land use across Chinese cities.Among these,the indices mostly chosen were factor inputs(e.g.labor and capital) and outputs(e.g.National Domestic Product) per unit of urban land.Based on fundamental economic theories,this paper tries to explore the concept of intensive land use in greater depth,and points out that the popular evaluating indices are possibly misleading in some aspects,no matter which prevailing evaluation methods are used.
