Municipal Solid Waste Reduction Policy in the World

Municipal solid waste management in cities of China is at present delivered in an unsustainable manner and it created unsanitary and unsightly environments in many parts of the cities in China. The minimization of MSW is the first objective of management principle. This paper mainly introduces several measures which are widely used and have good effects in the cities around the world, they are: MSW charge system, deposit-refund system and sorted collection. The paper also provides some suggestions for MSW management in China.
