The Specific Process and Factors of Urbanization in China before the Reform

Before the reform the urbanization in China has experienced a process composed of three stages including the steady increase stage,the violent fluctuation stage and the regression stage successively,showing the characteristics of a limited urbanization in the whole.The presentation of these characteristics before the reform is inseparable from the state's industrialization strategy,agriculture positioning,intervention policy in urbanization and other factors.The sustained and healthy development of urbanization in China requires the reasonable handling of the relationship between urbanization and various external factors including the leading role of state.
