The Main Course of Tokyo Megalopolis Planning and its Revelation to China

With the accelerated urbanization process in China,the formation and development of metropolitan area which is a special spatial pattern has become an inevitable trend. Therefore metropolitan area planning has become a new issue of regional planning. This article outlines the background and the main course of Tokyo Megalopolis planning,and summarizes that project development,the enacting and enforcement of correlative laws was the key to actualize planning. This gives us some important hints to regional planning in China.
