The Influencing Factors of the Location Selection of International Expansion of Hotel Companies

Taking the global top 10 hotel companies as the research object based on their international branches in 73 countries as the sample countries, this paper lists 10 major influencing factors of the location selection of international expansion of hotel companies. They are further decomposed into 29 indicators. This paper quantitatively measures the above indicators by Poisson Model and has found that the overall economic scale, economic development level, the scale of inbound tourism, FDI scale and the geographical and cultural factors of a country or a region will fundamentally influence the location selection of international expansion of hotel companies, while other factors have no significant influences. In the early stage of international expansion of hotel companies, the location selection should first focus on the scale of inbound tourism, geographical and cultural factors. After getting the multinational operation experience and skills, the location selection should first focus on the overall economic scale, the economic development level and FDI scale of a country or a region.
