This book aims at the inference, forecast and evaluation of the general benefits and the impacts of the provision of the Inner Ring Road, a large-scale transport infrastructure in Guangzhou. It not only focuses on normally the evaluation of the traffic effect, but also attempts to probe, from a multi-angle, into the changes of the traffic and environment and the subsequent changes of the land price and usage, the adjustment of the land-use function and spatial layout and the social and economic implications. It analyzes the potential impacts brought by the provision of the road and brings forward nip-in-the-bud policies and measures so as to bring the social and economic benefits of the Inner Ring Road into full play.
