Modern Urban Planning-Transition Based on Low Carbon Economy Philosophy

Low-carbon urban planning is not only a significant means of dealing with global warming but also a primary trend of the development of urban planning.This paper devotes itself to analysing the transition of modern urban planning theory,and finds that it has translated from tool-rationalism into liberty-rationalism.Under the instruction of Low-carbon Economy,Smart Growth and Ecology theories,the low-carbon orientation of modern urban planning has spread to the various fields of urban construction.On the other hand,the construction of low carbon urban planning-transition system provides the precondition for formulation,implementation,assessment and management of planning.
