Urbanization Quality over Time and Space as Well as Coupling Coordination of Land, Population and Industrialization in Chongqing

Based on the study of urbanization quality, the paper aims to establish a comprehensive qualitative coupling coordination index system based on the three parameters of land, population and industrialization by employing entropy method and system coupling degree model. It measures and analyzes the quality, coupling degree, coordination index,coupling coordination degree and spatial difference of land, population and industrialization in the research area from2002 to 2012 by taking Chongqing as an example, hoping to provide some scientific basis and references for Chongqing's future urbanization development. According to the research result, 1 the urbanization quality in Chongqing is improving over time on the whole; while it presents different periodical features due to local conditions, national and local policies as well as adjustment of industrial structure; 2besides, the quality coordination index and coupling degree in counties of Chongqing are unbalanced spatially. It presents a spatial difference from center to periphery. The core functional area, urban expansive functional area and new city development area are seen as the center, while the ecological protection zone in the Southeast Chongqing and ecological conservation development zone in the Northeast Chongqing are seen as periphery; 3 what's more, the low utility efficiency of urban land resources and irrational industrial structure are two key factors restricting urbanization quality in present Chongqing.
