Studies on urban social space under the preferred heavy industrialization in 1949-1987: a case of metropolis Guangzhou, China
研究了1949-1987年中国优先发展重工业的经济战略如何塑造广州的城市社会空间结构，并指出单位行政等级决定了社会分层，为理解1987年后社会经济转型中的城市社会空间演变提供基础。
The economic strategies of preferred heavy industrialization in 1949-1987 defined the urban socio-spatial structure in socialist urban China and controlled the evolution of urban social space in socio-economic transition (1987-). The personal social status was determined by the Dan wei which he belonged to. On the other hand, the urban social stratification was given orders by the administrative ladders of Dan wei, for example, state-owned enterprises, urban-owned enterprises, collective enterprises etc. Considering the urban social space must inherit from socialist urban China, the paper will promote the relative studies in socio-economic transition since 1987.
