In progress of urbanization,urban dilapidation is ineluctable.Dilapidation can make conglomerations of ancient buildings in the urban centers gradually become slums,which creates huge negative influence to the urban culture and economy.Facing the dilapidation of old buildings in urban centers,the United States and Europe have adopted different policies,which performs the view of their urban building culture.By analyzing building development policies of old urban areas and urban cultural mode and the influence in urban economy in the United States and Europe in this paper,we hope to provide important experience and precept for the protection and development and innovation of the urban traditional culture in the fast development of Chinese urbanization today.
