Consumption Ctiy Expansion Mode and Its Effects Research:A Case Study of Beijing

With the transformation of China's economic and social development modes,investment and export as engines of development give way to consumption-the third engine to boost economic and social development in the cities.Consumption need not only plays an important role in urban economic readjustment,but also has an enormous impact on the conception and paradigm of the traditional urban planning,thus profoundly changing the urban spatial structure.This paper defines the concept and proposes characteristics of consumption city and analyzes Beijing as an example and explores the common problems arisen out of the development of this new type of city in China and its possible solution.
