THE EVOLUTION AND INFLUENTIAL FACTORS OF THE INNOVATION NETWORKS OF LOCAL FIRMS IN A GLOBALIZING REGION——A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN DOLIM GROUP AND ELEC-TECH GROUP IN THE PEARL RIVER DELTA,CHINA
研究了珠三角两家本地企业创新网络的演化过程，发现全球化中的供应商-客户关系、企业战略、区域空间互动和制度环境是导致差异的关键因素。
Innovation network is one of the most popular issues in the contemporary studies in economic geography.This paper investigates the evolutionary process of the innovation networks of Dolim Group and Elec-Tech Group.We find that there are significant different between these two companies under the same spatial context,globalizing regional development.This paper further reveals four influential factors that contribute to the differentiated evolution of innovation networks of local firms in the PRD: ① the global and local interactions based on the relationship of 'supplier-customer' in the process of globalization;② firm’s development strategies;③the interation of firms under the spatial contexts of the PRD where the firms embedded in;④regional institutional arrangements and environment.We thus argue that it is these four factors that drive the evolution of the innovation networks in the globalizing region,the PRD in China.
