Planned has great significance for land use planning and regulation, urban rural planning and management. However, the problem of insufficient scientific limits regionalization's significant role to fully play. Through systematic and in- depth research, this paper's purpose is to make the theoretical understanding and practical application ofplanned regionalizationto be more scientific. It points out thatplanned regionalizationis the division of land use future complexity, belongs to land use future and is the carrier and basis ofnomothetic regulation. It discusses in detail on the scientific foundation ofplanned regionalization, that is the laws of land use differentiation, land use change and land use compatibility. In different spatial planning situation, it points out that different types of planned regionalization should be applied, includingareal regionalization orclassified regionalization,characteristic regionalizationorfunctional regionalization, et al. Moreover, several things needed to do well inplanned regionalizationpractice, such as sufficient data investigation and analysis, scientific division principals and units, scientific edges management, and scientific application in different situations.
