An Evaluation and Analysis of Tourism Efficiency in Different Cities and Regions of Guangdong Province
使用数据包络分析评估广东省21个城市2008-2010年的旅游效率，发现整体效率较高但存在区域差异，约40%城市处于规模报酬不变阶段，并将城市分为四类。
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate tourism efficiency and analyze its regional differences.Based on Data Envelope Analysis,taking all 21 cities in Guangdong province as objects,this study adapts panel data in tourism annals from 2008 to 2010.The results show that generally,the cities keep a high level of overall efficiency,technical efficiency and scale efficiency.However there is a wide gap in overall efficiency and technical efficiency among different cities and regions,the trend is towards a narrowed gap.Regarding characteristic of developmental stages,almost 40% cities are in stage of constant returns to scale and most of them are in Pearl River Delta.According to level and increase of tourism efficiency,cities can be classified as the grassroots,dark-horses,stars and nobles.The conclusions of this study can provide some illumination and suggestions to related departments and enterprises for improving tourism efficiency.
