REVIEW AND PREVIEW OF THE URBANIZATION IN PEARL RIVER DELTA IN THE PAST 30 YEARS OF REFORM AND OPENING UP
回顾了改革开放30年珠三角农村城市化的动力演变和空间模式变化，指出未来产业升级和城市转型是必然趋势，并预测珠三角与香港合作将形成多中心巨型城市区域。
Reform and opening up in the last 30 years has witnessed the great achievement of industrialization and urbanization in Pearl River Delta. Rural urbanization in PRD is a brand new phenomenon in China at that time. In the process, agricultural development and rural reform is the initial dynamism, and opening up is the accelerator of rural urbanization. Among these, policy is the key incentive factor. In the past 30 years, spatial mode of rural urbanization in PRD has evolved from micro-centralization macro-dispersal to macro-centralization micro-dispersal, meanwhile, the dynamism has changed from FDI to government oriented infrastructure investment. Looking forward to the future of PRD, industrial upgrading and city transition is an inevitable trend. Simultaneously, the pattern of cooperation between PRD and Hong Kong would also change, and a polycentric mega urban region around the estuary of the Pearl River, with two core big international cities Guangzhou and Hong Kong, will rise with a brand new gesture in the world geographic map.
