THE INFLUENCES OF QUANTITATIVE GEOGRAPHY METHODS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF GEOGRAPHY

This article briefly introduces the background,process and impetus of the development of quantitative geography,the influences of which on the development of geography is elaborated objectively.Undoubtedly,quantitative methods have played an unreplaceable role on the survival and development of geography.However,geography has ignored the development of itself due to unduly reliance on them.At last,we make a conclusion that as long as we hold the direction of the development of geography in hand,the accurately application of quantitative geography methods will resolve sets of problems arising in the development of geography and further expediate it's theorization and scientification at the same time display the grate value of geography to the whole society.
