Exploring the Concepts of Megalopolis

This paper is to discuss the concept of Megalopolis and the alternative ones in terms of their phraseology,attribute and range.Considering the national view,the common concept should be summed up as two types: One isMegalopolis,in terms of a international view;the other is Town-cluster,in terms of a national view.The criterion of Megalopolis is preferable to use the concept of theMIRdefined by Prof Zhou Yi-xing,and the definition of Town-cluster should be emended based on subsistent researches.
