City core competitiveness is a comparative and competitive advantage peculiar to a city,which can't be duplicated or imitated by other cities in a short time.A full recognition and exact judgment on core competitiveness,is the important premise of boosting the city's core competence,and has great meaning in promoting a city's sustainable economic and social development effectively.From vertical analysis based on primary indices of core competence and horizontal comparison based on analytic network process,this paper draws a basic conclusion,the city core competence of Hangzhou is the capacity of effective resource allocation from an organic combination of the economic subject's innovation capability,the advantage of specific resources and sunrise industries.
