SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION FOR OPTIMIZING THE PATTERN OF CHINA'S ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY——A DISCUSSION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY IN 10 YEARS

China's Economic Geography has witnessed rapid development in the practice of serving national policy making in the past ten years.In view of the demand of optimizing the pattern of China's Economic Geography for scientific foundation construction,this paper discusses key issues in the development of Economic Geography in ten years.It puts forward:①form theories on the causes of territorial functions and identification methods of them,and provide territorial function regulation principles for the implementation of development concepts like Spatial Governance and Adjusting Measures to Local Conditions;② establish orderly evolution theory of spatial structure,and make it play as important a role as the evolution theory of industrial structure in socio-economic development;③strengthen research on the basic theories of spatio-temporal scaling and human interface(boundary line) effects,making preparations for raising the achievement level of economic geographical laws;④speed up the development of Regional Sustainable Development Modeling System,and improve the abilities of supporting discipline construction and serving the society with modern techniques and methods;⑤ keep on expanding the research field of Economic Geography,accomplish incremental development,and at the same time attach great importance to exploring basic cross-discipline theories and scientific methodology,so as to promote a qualitative leap in Economic Geography.The paper holds that breakthrough in the key issues above will help Economic Geography grow into one of the significant scientific disciplines to the development of human society.
