Evaluation for the Classical Garden of Suzhou as an Open Space in the District Using the Contingent Valuation Method
以苏州五峰园为例，用条件价值法调查居民对古典园林作为社区开放空间的支付意愿，发现平均每户每月愿付5.94元，为中小型园林保护提供建议。
The classical gardens of Suzhou are preserved as a historical heritage. The cost for the maintenance is almost from the income of the admission fee. It made these gardens depend too much on the tourism. But the value as an open space attributed to these gardens is often ignored by the policy makers. As a case study this paper used the CVM to analyze how the value as an open space in the district is recognized by the residents of the district where the Five Peaks Garden is located. The estimated WTPs are 5.94 Yuan/family every month for mean and 5 Yuan/family every month for median. And a positive relationship between the respondents' WTP and some variables was observed. From this point of view,some proposals for the conservation of the gardens with a small or medium scale such as the Five Peaks Garden were submitted.
