It divides the process of sharing knowledge across organization subunits in a multiunit organization into two subsequent processes:searching knowledge and transferring knowledge,and analyzes the difficulties in transferring knowledge and the way to overcome them. It regards the process of knowledge transfer across organization subunits as a spiring dynamic process and presents a model for it. Then,it analyzes the difficulties caused by the characteristics of complex knowledge and puts out the concept of strong ties from social network research,concluding that the subunits with strong ties can effectively overcome the difficulties because they posses strong ability in expressing,acquiring and comprehending the complex knowledge,and can build proper mechanisms to promote frequent,abroad,two-way,timely and deeply knowledge communications.
