The Characteristics, Problems & Solutions of the Urban Land Expansion of Bao Tou City in the Recent Ten Years
研究了1995-2004年包头市建设用地数据，总结城市用地扩张特征与转化规律，分析问题原因并提出对策，为同类城市提供参考。
Bao Tou is a newly rising industrial city after the establishment of P.R China. Along with the rapid economic development in the recent 10 years, the construction speed of the City is getting more and more quickly, and the urban land scale is expanding rapidly. At the same time, the restrictions derived from the land resources are also getting stronger and stronger, which results in the even more obvious contradiction between the differentiated requirements from the urban development and proper land usage. After studying the relevant data change of urban land for construction in year 1995—2004 of the City (source: documentary files recorded in the Land Planning For Construction of Bao Tou City in year 1995—2004; satellite remote sensing photos of Bao Tou City of year 2004 ), the paper makes conclusions upon the characteristics of urban land expansion and the transformation rules of Bao Tou City, analyzes the reasons for the land usage problems occurred during the period of urban land expansion, and further raise the solutions for these problems. The paper aims to present a reference of proper land expansion in similar urban areas.
